Do pet foods with heatlh claims have any scientific backing?
 
Pet food has gone from consisting of grains, vegetables and, meats to everything from  glucosamine to antioxidants. But do these health claims have any Signifigant scientific backing?
 
Pet foods are under the umbrella of the FDA' s center for Veternary medicine (CVM). The CVMm works with the AAFCO to detirmine pet food ingredients testing procedures.They also insure that the manufactures provide clear, accurate, and consistant product information, they do not provide approval for any pet food.Thier role is to set model regulations for feeds and animal foods which legisltive bodies can adopt.
